But Oya, ever restless and drawn to movement and change, found herself captivated by Sango, the charismatic god of thunder and lightning. What began as attraction quickly turned into love, and before long, Oya made the messy choice to leave Ogun and be with Sango.
As you can imagine, Ogun did not take this well. Hurt and furious, he marched straight into Sango’s city, determined to confront him and bring Oya back. His anger was impossible to ignore—he caused chaos in the streets, shouting for Sango to come out and face him. The people, terrified by Ogun’s rage, quickly retreated into their homes, wanting no part in a conflict between gods.
But instead of Sango stepping out, it was Oya who finally faced Ogun. Calm but firm, she told him the truth: she no longer wanted to be with him. There was no fight, no dramatic battle—just a clear and honest declaration. She asked him to return home and leave things as they were.
And surprisingly, Ogun listened. Rather than escalating the situation, he chose to walk away. Heartbroken and defeated, he left the city behind. In time, the weight of it all pushed him into deep sadness, and he withdrew into the forest, choosing isolation over the world he once actively shaped.
